At Bringing Families Together, we believe that every young person leaving foster care deserves a safe, stable place to live—and a strong support system as they transition into adulthood. That’s why we’re excited to share that we’re expanding our Transitional Living Scattered Site (TLSS) Program! But we can’t do it alone—we need your help to make it happen.
What is the TLSS Program?
The TLSS Program is designed to support foster youth, ages 18–20, as they step into independent living. These young adults are often aging out of the foster care system without the family safety nets that many of us take for granted. TLSS offers more than just a place to live—it’s a launchpad to independence.
Through the program, BFT provides youth with:
A private, one-bedroom apartment
Paid rent and utilities
Weekly check-ins (sometimes as often as three times per week)
Life skills coaching and mentorship
This hands-on support helps youth learn to budget, grocery shop, maintain a home, manage time, and build confidence—essential tools for long-term success.
We’re Looking for Apartments—Can You Help?
As we expand the TLSS Program, we’re currently looking for affordable one-bedroom apartments for our youth. The ideal apartment would be:
✔ Reasonably priced
✔ Centrally located or accessible by public transportation
✔ Preferably in North County, though we are open to other locations across the St. Louis region
If you’re a landlord, property manager, or community member who knows of an apartment that meets these qualifications, we’d love to hear from you. You can also help by spreading the word or referring us to others who may have available housing.
